This was
last night’s dream. To protect the innocent (me!), I will not reveal the name
of the TV show that I was dreaming about. It is a real show and I do watch it
regularly, but I’m about twice the age of the target audience so it’s somewhat embarrassing
to admit it somehow made it in my dream last night. I do reveal a main
character’s name below, so the comments are open for any guesses.

I decide to
enter a contest to write a spec script for a TV show. (If you’ve never heard of
a TV spec script, eHow covers it.) The interesting part about this contest is
that for the finalists, the actors from the TV show will do a reading of the
script for the judges.
The writing
part was a breeze, and I soon find out that I’m a finalist in the contest. I’m
invited to come to a TV set to meet the actors and hear my script through their
interpretation.
I’m sitting
off to the side of the set when I look down at my script. To my horror, I
realize that I’ve given a “character of the week” the same first name as a main
character - Tyler. I start to panic as I realize the foolishness of the mistake. I look
over and can see that the actors are preparing to read my script. I’m realizing
that they are probably going to have the real Tyler read the other Tyler’s part and that will be a disaster.
